Why you should bag yourself a pro

Firstly, we’re just going to start by saying – why aren’t you already? Can your significant-other spike or dive? Did you know that beach volleyball players make up 15% of the world’s most good looking people – okay fine, that’s a made up statistic, but have you seen them? We’ve compiled a list of the top five reasons why you should start hanging out at beach volleyball matches and hope to snag one of these players.

1. They are RIPPED

Anyone who has run on the beach knows that it’s not as easy as Baywatch makes it look. Getting fit by the sea is tough. Every step feels as though your legs are sinking beneath sand that should be called ‘soft cement’, and please, God, let it not be windy – or else it feels as though you’ve been stung by a mob of angry bees. All beach volleyball players have to say to these obstacles, however, is: Challenge accepted. When they aren’t competing in tournaments, they are training - and it shows. They have really amazing figures. Dating a player means that you’ll need to also be in the sand – you know, not to ogle or anything, just to spend some quality time together… wink, wink.

2. You will travel the world

Beach volleyball tournaments take place all over the world and they are set in some of the most beautiful locations on Earth - did we mention they take place on beaches? Fort Lauderdale, Florida… enough said. If you date a pro beach volleyball player, you would need to travel (purely for moral support). Anyone with a strong case of wanderlust should start hanging around beach volleyball nets. Pro-tip if you’re not a beach volleyball player: Carry a volleyball around and say words like “pass” and “serve” - that will definitely earn you the attention of some sandy suiters.

3. You will end up living at the beach

Who doesn’t want to retire with a house in a street with a name like ‘Ocean Drive’, situated in front of an azure blue ocean, with the sounds of the waves crashing gently, lulling you to sleep? Name one person who doesn’t want to wake up with beach waves every day? Perhaps opening up a craft shop making trinkets out of sea shells lies in your future. Well, if that’s where you see yourself (living at the beach), and if those words actually just described you, that just shows how awesome it would be to date a pro beach volleyball player.

4. You will get front row seats to all the action

Anyone who has been to one of our tournaments knows that the vibe is nothing short of awesome. When you go there you feel like you’re a part of something; you’re witnessing something special and that’s because… you are. Often, after attending a beach volleyball event, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘when’s the next one?’ and ‘how can I get there?’.

What if I told you you could go to all the beach volleyball tournaments in the world? What if I told you you never have to worry about missing out again? The solution is simple: Date a pro beach volleyball player.

5. You will never meet a more dedicated person

Those who play beach volleyball know what it takes. There is a certain something that all athletes share but with beach volleyball players, there’s just that extra ‘je ne sais quoi’. Maybe it’s the countless bruises they can go home with after practice but still get up the next day and play again; maybe it’s the fact that they have their office at the beach – at the beach – how can you be angry with someone who works at the beach?

One thing’s for certain: They are fighters; they are extremely passionate about everything in life, not only their sport. They give everything to their families and to their game, and that is truly what counts when you date a beach volleyball player – the other things are just special perks.
