A season finale to remember

Thank you Hamburg!

A week ago we rocked up at the Rothenbaum and were preparing for yet another stunning season finale.

And if you’ve been paying close attention to our website and social media channels over the past six days, we think you’ll agree that it has been nothing short of sensational.

If there was any need for proof, you only had to take a look around at the thousands of smiling faces on Red Bull Beach Arena over the weekend to realize how much fun was had by us all – the fans, the players, the volunteers and every-amazing-body – that helped make the Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals presented by Vodafone a massive success.

After 48 action-packed matches, two new teams were crowned champions of the 2018 season.

Beach Vikings and men of the moment Anders Mol and Christian Sørum continued their insane golden run of form by making it four successive gold medals following wins in Gstaad, The Hague and Vienna.

In the women’s tournament, Agatha Bednarczuk and Duda Lisboa turned last year’s silver into gold after their thrilling win over tournament comeback queens Barbora Hermannová and Marketa Sluková.

They were the stars that stole the show on the sand, but it was the German people, our volunteers and beach fans who were the real heroes.

We can’t wait to see you again, so thank you volunteers, thank you Hamburg – thanks for the memories and see you next season for the World Championships!
